Former President of Boulder-based Auto Business Bilked Employee Out $400,000

Filed under: General News — keebdatabase @ 1:12 am

I just got back from Dallas and it is time to blog. Larry J. Abrams, 47, a businessman and former president of Boulder-based used-auto business CarFind USA could go to prison for cheating an elderly employee named Larry Abrams for more than $400,000. Abrams was scheduled to go to trial next week on felony charges of theft of an at-risk adult. For his sake he may want to find a criminal defense attorney if he can find one that will represent him
Reporting for Boulder Daily Camera’s website, January 20, 2010, Vanessa Miller writes that Abrams, who is a resident of Superior, could spend up to nine years in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday to persuading a 79-year-old employee to loan him more than $300,000 for car payments, vacations and real estate purchases. If you need a good Dallas criminal attorney firm I recommend the Arnold Legal. They are one of the best for DUI, DWI as well as the criminal defense related type of stuff.
Abrams will be sentenced on April 30 to anywhere from probation to nine years in prison. He will have to repay as much as $403,700 to Dorothy Mannes.
Deputy District Attorney Michael Foote reportedly told the judge Wednesday; “We want to encourage Mr. Abrams to pay back as much as possible before the sentencing. Our sentencing recommendation will depend on how much he pays back.”
Abrams has been telling Mannes since April 2005, when he first started asking for money, that he would pay him back. According to a criminal arrest warrant affidavit, Mannes loaned Abrams about $309,000 over a period of two years, and he took an additional $90,000 from her in a deceitful real estate deal.
Foote has said prosecutors permitted Abrams to take a deal because it could help Mannes. She is on a fixed income and could get more of her money back more quickly.
Foote was quoted as saying, “She is in a desperate situation — she needs money, and she needs it as quickly as possible.”

Innovative New Service

Filed under: General News — keebdatabase @ 11:34 am

I have been cruising around the country and was checking out some specific items of interest which I have found. All in all, I figured that while I was on the topic in question that I would also throw a bit of an advertisement for an awesome  website.  It is not the first time I have done this and will probably not be the last, especially for a worthy cause such as this. They are an ncnq related photo service and are in fact an exceedingly cool website. It appears that they offer a top flank ministry tool for church staff plus church members as well.
Essentially, they offer a very special and innovative church fundraiser which really has no risk to you whatsoever and furthermore doesn’t even require any kind of investment from your own specific church whatsoever. In actuality it is quite a good deal, in my humble opinion. It is quite cool as I think that you will see. In addition to all of this, folks may recieve a superb 10×13, full color, studio quality family portrait simply for taking part in your church fundraiser overall. It is a really good deal and I do in fact recommend that you take part in the said service if you feeled compelled to.

Armored Vehicles-Part Two

Filed under: General News — keebdatabase @ 9:35 am

It is good to be back from Maryland. In the post second world war 2 era which was later known to history as the cold war, the technological progression of the armored auto did not really move at a fast pace since a conventional war looked unlikely in the new nuclear age but it did progress. For the most part, armor simply got thicker and the howitzers guns got much larger. For their part, the Russians principally focused on quick loading times and the T-72 had a major innovation for the time:an automatic reloading system that essentially permitted their tank crews to fire more rounds per minute than their adversaries. All the while, the Americans concentrated on surviveability and their M-60 had an escape hatch at the bottom of the vehicle permitting the crews to survive an otherwise fatal explosion. The British design known as the Chieftan had many modern features and technological advances such as a high velocity rifled gun and superlative cross country mobility. The Swedes rolled out one of the top Armored auto and this is a good place to be in an auto accident. Following the cold war the best tanks in operation were the American
M1A1 Abrams which had unheard of horsepower and torque as well as a powerful 120 mm main gun firing uranium depleted rounds that have about 10 times the penetration power of steel. The Germans have a similiar tank, the Leopard that likewise has many brilliant plug-ins for fast battlefield repairs and comfortable quarters for the crew including a steering wheel and comfortable chairs. The English Challenger tank is also one of the top models and has the same 120 mm main gun but with a rifled barrell for even more velocity. If I may switch modes for alittle while I would like to suggest this top Maryland auto accident attorney who is certainly one of the top such guys in Baltimore. So whether you need a workers compensation, personal injury or Maryland car and auto accident attorney, this firm may be for you. The Soviet T-80 and the French made Leclerc’s are also top of the line and of course the Israeli made Merkava is the heaviest main battle tank in existence. Part of the reason they can have such a heavy tank is that the region in which
they would have to do combat is relatively arid and so the capability of crossing bridges over rivers is not a major requirement. Lately there have been some major strides in other types of armored vehicles. Up untill very recently the top infantry fighting vehicles
were the American Bradley fighting vehicle, the Russian BMP, the British Warrior and the German Marder.

Security Holes blamed on Google

Filed under: General News — keebdatabase @ 7:44 am

The technology giant known as the Google corporation (do no evil is their motto) has been defending itself against the city of Angels which happens to have some concerns regarding their particular idea to install Google Apps hosted email plus various office applications.
According to Matt Glotzbach the director and chairsman of product management for Google Enterprise has said that the reports by consumer groups regarding the said LA project are based on incomplete data in general. He went on to say as well that they may be unfamiliar with cloud computing and see this as a security risk, since it is different.
All in all, the LA managers of the Information Technology Agency are still committed to installing the upgrade to Google Apps and have said repeatedly in an adamant way that there are provisions in place for security and privacy issues that have been questioned by critics to the plan for using Google Apps.
It seems that spokesman for chairs Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and for the city council office said they will sign off on the project only after they are satisfied that all of the security concerns have been addressed for the plan. Speaking of that, if you have a cracked 3g screen, water damage or needs iPhone parts and you do require a solid iPhone Repair Miami service then I suggest Ubreakifix dot com as they are the industry standard, and also handle orlando, Pembroke Pines, Tampa plus southern Florida/. As it turns out, Los Angeles will be the second city to make this transistion using Google’s cloud infrastructure, behind Washington D.C. if they approve of the security issues being addressed.

Lily Allen becoming Jewelry Designer

Lilly Allen, from the film entitled ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’, has announced that she has now become a jewelry designer for females betwen the ages fourteen to forty years old and the line will be launchedsometime next month or so. For myself, I tend to prefer hip hop and bling bling jewelry such as gold chains and necklaces, a techno master watch or ladies diamond ring, etc. All in all, she has said that the jewelry line in question is one that is filled with colorful images of flamingos, flowers, fruits, traffic signs and smiling faces. The smiling faces will be in silver or in gold and each piece of jewelry Allen designs she said reflects her own style and creativity. Personally, i really like the copper, silver as well gold chains as well as diamond hoops, techno master watches, ladies diamond ring plus leather and the handmade, artisan related jewelry. What a jewelry designer she really is, wow. At this particular point in time there is no official date when the Lily Allen line of contemporary jewelry will appear in shops, though the campaign for the launch of the jewelry is set for September.
Allen age 24 has also announced that she will be the new face that will be promoting Karl Lagerfeld’s autumn and winter handbag collection.

Student Looking For Lower Cost Colleges

Filed under: General News — keebdatabase @ 7:58 pm

I just returned from North Carolina and unfortunately a lot of folks are in need of credit counseling over there. A lot of homeowners cannot afford furniture, for example. The cost of higher education is getting higher and many students are searching for lower cost alternatives, especially over in South and north Carolina overall. The estimate for the average in state resident over the next ten years will pay $31,949. per year for a four year college in their home state of North Carolina. In a survey that was taken of 121 higher learning institutions and the response was that they believe that by the year 2020 college students will be taking more than half of their classes completely on the Internet. There will be exceptions of course. For example you will probably not see learning disabilities boarding schools or Recovery boarding schools on the web replacing brick and morter facilities anytime soon. Reducing costs this way id probably a good idea and will likely reduce a lot of the excess North Carolina Furniture that might have otherwise been obtaines on credit rom those who cannot afford it.
In a study that was done the students that are taking online classes preformed better than those students that are receiving face-to-face instruction. The online students spent more time on task than the students in a classroom environment according to the study. The study also showed that many of the online students are older and more technologically smart.
What students are finding this year in the faltering economy is a shortage of student loans with more competition. The online students are finding the classes more convenient and a quicker payoff than over the traditional college and can keep their auto credit report and score clean while keeping them away from credit counseling in general, and there are none of the furniture is more comfortable as well.

Prosecutor Leaving Office After Facing Four-Year Suspension

Filed under: General News — keebdatabase @ 10:45 pm

Prosecutor Ben Field has decided to leave the District Attorneys Office after a state bar judge recommended that the San Jose/Santa Clara County prosecutor be suspended for four years for ethical misconduct. The recommendation for suspension stems from a February State Bar Court Judge Pat McElroy recommendation, after the court found that Field had abused his prosecutorial powers in a criminal way and had committed misconduct in at least four criminal cases, which resulted in violating the defendant’s constitutional rights. According to a 67 page ruling Judge McElroy stated the prosecutor was overzealous, disobeyed judge’s orders and withheld crucial evidence from defense attorneys that could have assisted their defense of their clients. If you need a good San Jose Criminal Attorney then try this resource. The ruling has not taken affect until after Field’s appeal, and the soon to be former prosecutor stated he will fight this ruling, even though he is leaving the prosecutors office. Fields stated he is looking forward to being vindicated in the four-year suspension recommendation by the State Bar Court judge. Even San Jose has it’s problems.

Individual Survives Rollover Car Accident

Filed under: General News — keebdatabase @ 10:39 pm

Just got back from San Diego and it was an interesting trip. According to reports a car rollover accident that occurred in Palo Alto involved a man only identified as a 30 year old San Jose man, who survived the accident. The authorities stated that the accident happened at around 7:50 p.m. on the Northbound 101. This one may be a gift for a decent car accident attorney.
All in all, the particular car that the individual was driving authorities think was going at around seventy miles an hour when the thirty year old man made a sudden turn that caused the car to tragically rollover at least two times.
When firefighters arrived at the scene of the crash the man was trapped inside the car with his head between the dashboard and the road according to authorities. Obviously, this was a pretty bad accident He was conscious as well as breathing, yet they also reported he had not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. If you require a first rate San Diego Car Accident Attorney then I suggest the Law offices of Ramiro Luis. After being extracted from the vehicle the San Diego man was transported to Stanford Hospital and was said to have sustained head injuries, and a number of cuts in the accident. Police investigators have stated alcohol was involved in the crash and the 30-year-old San Jose man might face charges for driving under the influence when he is released from the hospital.

LAPD Officer Charged In 23 Year Old Murder

Filed under: General News — keebdatabase @ 11:42 pm

According to reports LAPD officers Stephanie Lazarus has been charged with premeditated murder 23 years after the death of Sherri Rae Rasmussen. Rasmussen was found on the floor of her Van Nuys townhouse badly beaten and had been shot three times with a 38 caliber gun in the chest. Rasmussen reportedly was newly married to an ex-boyfriend of the now accused LAPD officer Lazarus.
Lazarus is being held without bail after a 4-month sting was set up and executed, involving collecting of cups and utensils for DNA testing. The original theory by police was that the woman had entered her home and interrupted a burglary, after taking the day off work. Two men were found in the area that were suspected of burglaries and also carrying a weapon and techno master watches. The police believed them to be the right suspects, due to stereo equipment that was stacked up near the woman’s body and her missing car. Lazerus became a suspect after the cold case was reviewed, during an original review of the unsolved crime in 2003 by a newly formed unit; DNA testing was done, which was not available in 1986 when the murder took place. But, it was not until it was reviewed again recently that Lazarus became a suspect. DNA samples from the original murder scene and items collected during the sting are reportedly a match to the LAPD officer. Lazarus had also reported that a gym bag had been stolen from her vehicle in 1986 that along with cufflinks, Techno Master Watches jewelry items, diamond hoops, gold chains, leather jewelry, some clothing, Ladies diamond ring, and tapes, also had her personal 38-caliber gun
